TURAE GORDON BIO

Comedy is an art form. TuRae, (pronounced too-ray), truly believes that. Beginning his comedy career at Temple University, the former campus personality was invited to an open mic by friends. After winning the cash prize, TuRae declared himself “allergic to a job” and pursued stages beyond campus.

Landing a steady hosting spot at a local club called the Laff House, TuRae was able to use his life experiences as a neighborhood geek and failed basketball star, to fuel his almost endless reflections of urban life. As young comedians go, TuRae is a breath of fresh reality. His sense of urban realism readily invites audiences to his world, as he graciously pokes fun at theirs.

Performing his craft in clubs and colleges across the country and developing a true sense of self is important to a young man with the original name. The native Philadelphian has been able to hold stages with the greatest comedy talent such as Cedric the Entertainer and Dom Irerra; and perform along side of music legends such as Gil Scot-Heron, Patti Labelle, and Alicia Keys. With a bright future, and endless motivation, TuRae will be a truly entertaining comic, and engaging personality for years to come.
