Mike Birbiglia
Mike Birbiglia, a graduate from Georgetown University who now resides in New York's Greenwich Village, has been writing since he could pick up a pencil. As a kid he wrote poems and mini-plays and drew pictures of bears and his family and the girls he liked at school. As an adult, Mike has written the one-man show "Sleepwalk With Me" and currently writes his own Secret Public Journal on his website Birbigs.com. Mike is one of most popular college acts in America, donning him “Comedian of the Year” by Campus Awards.com.
Mike is also one of the most popular standup comedians to appear on Comedy Central having done two
"Comedy Central Presents" specials (one in 2003 and one in 2006). He has also hosted the network's Friday Night Standup lineup and appeared in promos sponsored by Twix. He has made numerous appearances on "The Late Show with David Letterman," "Late Night with Conan O'Brien," "Jimmy Kimmel Live," and recently, yes, "The View."
Birbiglia's popular blog, called his "Secret Public Journal," chronicles his awkward adventures on the road. In 2007, Birbiglia released a live rendition of his favorite stories via Comedy Central Records entitled, "My Secret Public Journal LIVE," which both Time Out New York and Time Out Chicago hailed the "Comedy Album of the Year."
